What’s Front Row Freedom?

I’ve learned quite a bit, since dedicating my life to wellness. The first is that, if we truly want to change the outcome of America’s health - we have to make it feel good; better than good. We have to deliver it an equitable way and we have to truly value people if we’re to truly leave them better than we found them. I call the attention to these principles, and the curation of a space like this… where folks feel free, where every body is an athlete, and where we have fun together… Front Row Freedom.

In a world full of wellness girlies, being marketed to constantly…limiting beliefs run abound! matching sets and rock hard abs are the norm and if you don’t have them, you’re not welcome. the front row is reserved for the best and most beautiful, and at places like soulcycle — if that’s not you, they ask you to move. this behavior has become normalized. how do you love yourself in an industry that makes you feel less than? how do you feel good about moving your body when you’re asked to move to the back of the room? At TRILLFIT, the better press we got, the more folks conditioned to the fitness space would walk in nervous to join our community. It took us being even more intentional to craft a space to erase all of that. We love the front row, and we want you to too. We believe that the front row is not a place of ridicule or shame but a space where individuals can take up space, be a star in their own bodies, and feel validation and support from the community.

Here’s how Front Row Freedom comes to life for us. It is the idea that people of all shapes, sizes, and genders have the right to take up space in wellness spaces, particularly in the front row. For far too long, these spaces have been reserved for a narrow, stereotypical view of fitness, often excluding those who don't fit into society's limited definition of what it means to be "fit."

Build a Space that Upholds Radical Inclusivity:

For people to feel free, the space they inhabit needs to celebrate and uplifts individuals of all backgrounds, body types, and fitness levels. We believe that everyone deserves the opportunity to shine in the front row. We actively challenge the toxic norms of boutique fitness that have historically perpetuated exclusion and judgment. In our classes, the front row is a place of radical inclusivity, where individuals can feel seen, valued, and supported.

Cultivate a Culture of Empowerment:

We believe in empowering individuals to embrace their unique strengths and abilities. In TRILLFIT classes, the front row is a platform for self-expression and self-confidence. We encourage participants to step into their power, take up space, and be the star in their own bodies. Our instructors serve as guides and cheerleaders, providing validation and support as individuals push their boundaries and discover their inner strength.

Mindful Movement and Body Positivity:

We believe in the power of mindful movement to cultivate a positive relationship with our bodies. Emphasize body positivity and self-acceptance. The front row is a space where individuals can move with confidence, free from judgment or comparison. We encourage folks to listen to their bodies, honor their limits, and celebrate their unique abilities. We encourage participants to appreciate the strength and beauty of their bodies, regardless of shape or size.

We have witnessed the practices of other fitness giants, such as SoulCycle, who have perpetuated this exclusionary mindset. They have removed individuals who didn't conform to their stereotypical view of fitness from the front row, sending a clear message that only a certain body type or appearance is welcome in their spaces. This is not the world we envision, nor is it the world we will accept.

At TRILLFIT, we believe that wellness is for everyone. We celebrate diversity, embracing the beauty of different body types, backgrounds, and abilities. We reject the notion that fitness is a one-size-fits-all concept. Instead, we create an inclusive environment where every individual can thrive, regardless of their starting point.

Front row freedom is about more than just physical placement; it's a mindset. It's about stepping into your power, owning your journey, and refusing to be confined by societal expectations. It's about recognizing that your worth is not determined by the number on a scale or the reflection in a mirror. It's about embracing your unique beauty, strength, and resilience.

In our TRILLFIT community, we celebrate the stories of triumph, the moments of vulnerability, and the journeys of personal growth. We uplift and support one another, creating a safe space where everyone feels seen, valued, and inspired. We believe that true wellness encompasses not only physical fitness but also mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being.

Front row freedom is a call to action, a rallying cry for change. It is a movement that challenges the norms, breaks down barriers, and paves the way for a more inclusive and equitable future. It is a revolution that empowers individuals to reclaim their power, rewrite their narratives, and redefine what it means to be fit and well.

In the words of Barack Obama, "Change will not come if we wait for some other person or some other time. We are the ones we've been waiting for. We are the change that we seek."
